AI Predicts: CFB Playoff Semifinal Games

2022 is coming to an end and the boys here at Loon HQ have had a stellar year betting on college football (YTD up over 15 units on 90+ plays, at the time of writing). However, there’s one thing we’ve clearly been slacking on and that is our blog content.

I texted in our Loon HQ group chat asking if anyone was available to write a quick blog on the upcoming college football playoff. Naturally, I got just one reply from Loon Schmidt, and his reply simply stated “Ask AI”. It’s a busy time of year and I myself didn’t want to take the time to write a full blog either, so I really can’t blame my fellow Loons. Using AI technology is something I have dabbled in over the last few months as it’s been all over the internet so I figure, why not give it a shot.

Without further ado I present to you the first ever installment in the Loon State Sports, “AI Predicts” series.

Game 1: Fiesta Bowl (4 PM Eastern)

#2 Michigan vs. #3 TCU

The #2 ranked Michigan Wolverines, led by quarterback JJ McCarthy and coached by Jim Harbaugh, are set to face off against the #3 ranked TCU Horned Frogs in the Fiesta Bowl on New Year’s Eve. The Horned Frogs are led by senior quarterback and Heisman finalist Max Duggins. Duggins is an all around player who has the ability to both spread the field and run the ball. On the other hand, the Wolverine to watch is sophomore running back Donovan Edwards, who will be looking to make an impact against the suspect TCU defense.

TCU is coming off a loss to Kansas State in the Big 12 championship, but don’t count out Duggins and the Horned Frogs passing attack, as it could be the deciding factor in this matchup. The winner of this game will advance to the national championship, and it’s sure to be an exciting matchup.

My prediction for the score is Michigan 28, TCU 24, with the Wolverines taking the win.

Game 2: Peach Bowl (8 PM Eastern)

#1 Georgia vs #4 Ohio State

The #1 ranked Georgia Bulldogs, led by Stetson Bennett, are the defending National Champions and have their sights set on a repeat. Georgia has a plethora of talent, but the player to watch is Tight End Brock Bowers. The #4 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes, led by CJ Stroud, are also in the hunt for a National Championship. The player to watch for Ohio State is Wide Receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.

Both Bennett and Stroud were Heisman finalists this year. Ohio State had one tough loss to Michigan while Georgia remains undefeated. Both teams have electric offenses, and the matchup between Georgia’s defense and Ohio State’s passing attack will be must-see TV. Georgia’s defense is the best in the nation, and Ohio State’s passing attack is one of the most potent. Both teams have the talent to win, and it will come down to who can make the most plays. The winner of this game will advance to the National Championship.

In the end, I predict that Georgia will come out on top with a final score of 28-21. Be sure to tune in to ESPN at 7 pm on Saturday to watch this epic battle.

So there it is, AI gave us a nice little write up and a score prediction for each game. As the user, all I needed to do was plug in a few key words and BOOM, there’s 6 paragraphs. It took all of 5 minutes for me to get this whole blog done thanks to this fascinating technology. This series is to be continued and I will be tracking the AI betting stats for our readers.
