Loon’s Must Bet CFB Win Total

Ladies, gentlemen, degenerates, we at Loon HQ have been keeping a large wager away from you guys over fear of the line moving. We wanted to be fair to you guys and make sure that this line was set in stone before we gave it out. For those who don’t follow closely, Loon makes our hay during two seasons. College football season and golf. In golf we have hit multiple winners this year and our two contributors Magz and Beast are up at least 20 units each. This college football bet is not only fully supported by those names, but also by LoonSlim, LoonMush, LoonSchmidt and even our Intern Allen Post. It’s a unanimous consensus for our top college football win total and it involves no personal bias whatsoever.

MINNESOTA GOPHERS O7.5 WINS -140.

I know that the juice on this line may be juiced for a reason, but this bet looks amazing. The Gophers avoid playing either Michigan or Ohio State this year leaving their toughest draws in road games at Penn State and Wisconsin. While those will be tough tests they are still VERY winnable games for the Minnesota boys and just one of those being won should easily secure not just an 8 win season but actually a 9 win season for the Gophers.

Going deeper into why we love this win total, let’s take a look at the Gophers’ roster that got them nine wins a year ago. What made them successful last year? They had a sneaky good defense and though they lost some key defensive linemen they are projected by ESPN to finish as the 12th ranked defense in the entire country in 2022. A pretty stellar ranking considering both DEs from last year were drafted into the NFL. Even better, the Gophers are coming into this year with familiar faces on the offensive side of the ball. Center John Schmitz is a preseason All-American and will be handing the ball back to 9th year starter Tanner Morgan. Morgan knows his strengths and with a new offensive coordinator in Minnesota he could be improved upon, using offensive schemes to get the ball to other weapons such as Chris Autman-Bell at wideout and the man everyone has been waiting for: Mo Ibrahim. Ibrahim went down last year with an ACL tear but returns hungry as ever to deliver not only for his future in football but for the team that has worked hard to give him that opportunity. This all goes without saying that PJ Fleck is a man with a plan and a coach that will work day and night for the success of this program, always bringing high energy. RTB.

In conclusion, we can go through the Gophers schedule to show how realistic this 9 win season is…

Week 1 – VS New Mexico St. – The 121st ranked team in the FBS… Win 1 for the Gophers.

Week 2 – VS Western Illinois – A solid FCS team, but not good enough. Win 2 for the Gophers.

Week 3 – VS Colorado – 30-0 last year with no big signs of improvement. Win 3 for the Gophers.

Week 4 – AT Michigan St – Will be a tough test. Loss 1 for the Gophers.

Week 5 – VS Purdue – Purdue is more balanced than the Gophers but their defense will surrender more points than the Gophers will at home. Win 4 for the Gophers.

Week 6 – AT Illinois – After a brutal loss to Illinois last year at home the 23rd in SP ranked Gophers will get vengeance on the 66th ranked Illini. Win 5 for the Gophers.

Week 7 – AT Penn St. – The dreaded white out game. Personally think the Gophers could take this but will call it a loss to be extra safe. Loss 2 for the Gophers.

Week 8 – VS Rutgers – Rutgers does not nearly have what it takes to win this game on the road. Win 6 for the Gophers.

Week 9 – AT Nebraska – Scott Frost. PJ Fleck. Next question. Win 7 for the Gophers.

Week 10 – VS Northwestern – Another rebuilding year in Chicago. Win 8 for the Gophers. You just cashed.

Week 11 – VS Iowa. Because I despise Iowa so much, their offense is so bad. They won’t win this game. But I will give it to them because the Gophers 9 win season ends with the Badgers. Loss 3 for the Gophers.

Week 12 – AT Wisconsin – The battle for the Ax is a massive one this year and will likely be for the title of the Big Ten West. Here is where the gophers pull away, where Tanner Morgan and the stout Gopher defense show their true colors two days after thanksgiving. Gophers in a close one for their 9th win on the season. BIG TEN WEST CHAMPS.
