Protect PGA Tour Players!

Protect Them From The Rules! Protect Them!

Before we get into the weeds on why the PGA Tour needs to protect their players. Let me introduce you to the three dumbest men in the room.

On top, we have Charley Hoffman, known Waste Management Open fan, and sadly (very sadly) a victim of hitting his ball into the water. Prayers appreciated. In the middle is Phil Mickelson, a great golfer that appears to have plans to become crown prince of Saudi Arabia. And, on the bottom known smart person Bryson Dechambeau who recently blamed his driver for any of his bad shots off the tee. Ladies and gentlemen these men need protection from the Tour, for what exactly? Because Charley couldn’t stay out of the water.

This all began after Hoffman smoked one into the water on 17 (again be nice to him, we’ve all hit it in the water. Charley, we’re sorry about that brother). Then Charley had to take a drop on a steep slope near the water, this is where Charley is right. Hoffman had to drop his ball which came to rest, then later before hitting it, rolled into the water. He was forced to take another penalty stroke, a ridiculous ruling we can all agree on. If Hoffman had solely pointed this rule out he wouldn’t be being talked about negatively at all right now. Sadly, Charley took a new and excitingly stupid route of bringing attention to the ruling by claiming the PGA Tour offers players no protection and that is why other leagues (Saudi Arabia aka Phil’s Kingdom) are possibilities for the players going forward. So, to recap, Charley went on Instagram and posted about the obnoxious rule while also claiming the players do not get protection and that the Tour does nothing for them. Tagging golf channel and other accounts along the way (even Riggs at Barstool got a tag). Riggs has this Charley.

Once the post had gotten some attention it was also brought to attention that two notable players had left comments on Instagram. The crown prince of Saudi Arabia aka Phil Mickelson commented “I feel ya”. Wow. Thank you Phil. Now, I am not a Phil hater, but it is sad watching him go down the path of throwing the PGA Tour under the bus in an effort to go to a Saudi Arabian golf league backed by a clearly corrupt and brutal government. It is clear Phil loves money and apparently loves it more than morals or his home country for that matter. Which brings us to Bryson Dechambeau. Bryson also commented on the post “Agree wholeheartedly”.

For those who do not know Bryson, he is the beefed up golfer that constantly blames his clubs, crowds, and fire ants for bad shots. He refuses to take responsibility for himself and like Phil, loves money. Now these guys are grown men they can do whatever they want, but to make a case that the PGA Tour needs to protect its players because Charley’s ball rolled into the water? Truly grasping at straws and hiding behind their true obnoxious greed for money.

Charley’s post has since been deleted. He even followed it up with a new one supporting the Waste Management Open. The story will live on though and could possibly lead to new development such as the lefty heading across the pond to find new treasures. So, in conclusion, can we please get these players some protection??? Goodness they are fighting for their lives out there.
